b. 1993, U.K

In my work, I use both moving and still images to construct worlds of surreal weather. Working with 3D software, I see each animation as an environmental and emotional scenario: clouds that calm and expand, skies that fall in, places that vanish or emerge. Each work examines a world, and builds and dismantles forms of psychological shelter. Charging places into a state of flux, the videos visualize characters and presences that are haunted by changing climate; all operating in internal weather systems of calm, shock, distraction and escapism.

Ultimately, both my videos and still works go into a sheltered, interior space. This is a place of retreat, that both shies away from an unpredictable ‘outside’ and frantically tries to process it. I work with these dynamics – inside and outside, home, the weather – to explore how changing climate seeps into rhythms of internal emotional weather.
