Cloudwatching, 2024, Single-channel video, 12 minutes 34 seconds

Cloudwatching follows a sequence of ‘cloudforms’ ghosting objects and places in 3D animated space. Like the childhood activity of looking for faces in the clouds, forms appear in the textured fabrics like embedded warnings from the sky. As the day moves along, Cloudwatching opens up a space for hallucinating strange weather and for existing in an ambience that is starting to malfunction and spin out of control. Striking a balance between relaxation and alarm, Cloudwatching is situated both in the peaceful, oblivious suburban soundscape and in a visual weather system which is increasingly chaotic. As these vast backgrounds become unstable and distraught, Cloudwatching turns a blind eye to outside forces while at the same time registering their presence.
